Quick and easy styling happens to be the go-to look for many women who just want to be timeless with very little effort. With the convenience of social media, online shopping can get the job done.
Established in 2015 by fashion minimalist Nordia Brown, @beatbynordz blessed the digital scene with looks from Los Angeles, California, for every body type, small to 3XL.
“Before we went online, I had my nine-to-five back in Jamaica. Every time I travelled, I would always bring clothes back to my office to sell. I realised that I had a market, and I began marketing via Instagram,” she explained.
With looks ranging from corporate to formal, BeatByNordz stocks skirts, jeans dresses, rompers, and some of the best blazers.
“I don’t shop online for my stock. I enjoy seeing the clothes and feeling the fabric so my customers know they’re getting exactly what they pay for,” she said.
Flair squeezed a few tips out of Nordia so you can hit the ground running when the time of isolation comes to an end.
ONLINE SHOPPING TIPS
- Have an idea of sizing. If you are in-between sizes, go a size up. “Ask your provider for a sizing chart, and know your waist, hip, and bust size,” she advised.
- Don’t shop based on the picture; body types are different.
- Pay attention to return policies. You never want to get stuck with the shorter end of the stick when your money is on the line.
- Looking to revamp your closet? According to Nordia, there are three major closet essentials: a good pair of jeans, that’s one tone and has no rips; a black dress, because they can be worn on almost any occasion, depending on how you accessorise; and lastly, a well-fitted blazer that can dress up any outfit.
