All who did tink say yours truly a go talk ‘bout politics and election, unnu come to di wrong place.

However, I will at least admit that last week’s announcement of the nomination day and election day did catch my eye.

You see, ‘Bro Gad’, I mean Prime Minister Andrew Holness, made the announcements in Parliament while wearing a pair of green Clarks.

Now, it got me thinking that just like the music bucket list I did in Kelly’s World some time ago, I also have a clothing bucket list.

Quick recap. The music bucket list is a series of events that I would like to attend before ‘my number call’.

Among them is Reggae Sumfest, carnival road march, and watching a performance at Red Rocks in Colorado, USA.

So back to the present. I realised, upon viewing Bro Gad’s Clarks, that I have never owned a pair of the much-celebrated brand.

Prime Minister Andrew Holness in his Clarks shoes in Gordon House before the Sitting of House of Representatives last Tuesday.

Now, it might seem like, in the wider context of the universe, particularly in these COVID times, that this is frivolous.

But, on the other hand, if 2020 has taught you anything, it should be to enjoy life. So I’ve been thinking about what other brands and clothing pieces I’ve always wanted to don but have not.

The thing is, looking at this list as I was making it, I realise I don’t have most of these things because I always seem to have to spend money on more ‘important’ items.

Plus, the amount of money in my possession has never really been that large to begin with. Such is life.

First off, growing up in the ‘90s, the Michael Jordan-led Chicago Bulls were my team. So I need to get me a pair of authentic Air Jordans one day.

On the less sporty side, a pair of Louis Vuitton would also go nicely on my size 10s. Oh, and I nice, strong pair of Timberland boots would also be great.

I know they probably aren’t as popular as they once were, but they’re still classics.

Don’t have a tuxedo in my closet. To be honest, I don’t go to many events where I need one.

But it’s one of those fashion pieces that a man should have, ready to whip it out and dust it off when required.

On the even more extravagant side, I’ve never worn a fur coat. Clearly, living in a tropical climate, I don’t need one here.

So wearing one is going to be highly dependent on me going to a foreign land. That doesn’t look like that will be happening any time soon, because COVID still a keep.

In terms of accessories, I’m not big on jewellery, especially wid dem tiefing bwoy deh ‘bout di place. But I would like to sport a Rolex at some point.

Also, if I every truly start to ‘go out’, I might need some trendy glasses to sport. Dolce and Gabbana sounds like a good fit.

But alas, at the rate this COVID thing is going, the only thing I might be wearing for now is a hazmat suit. Great, I get to look like a Teletubbie.
