Summer is out the door and so, too, are its make-up trends. Now, it’s the beginning of fall. So, what are the season’s looks? Flair had a beauty talk with Tamieka Boodie, marketing and sales manager of Covergirl Jamaica. She called us to the EC Makeup Bar where she spilled the secret to the beauty round-up of fall 2019.

The beauty expert says you need to join in on some trends. They are very simple so pros, intermediates and even beginners will find it an easy feat to get their glam on.

ALL YOU NEED

Dewy skin: What makes a dewy finish? Glowing skin tops the list. Raise your hand if your skin looks blah. Okay. I bet when you scroll through Instagram you get jealous when you see the many variations of luminous skin goals. Don’t be ashamed because that will change any moment now. Make the look appear healthy and natural with a little make-up.

Natural look with bold lips: Now, who doesn’t like bold lips? Top that off with a natural look and you’ll never go unnoticed. “The neutral look is always in,” Boodie said. Some of us like the idea of wearing crazy colours on our lips. I know it may be daunting at times to actually do, but now is the perfect time to pull it off.

Earth tone eyes and lips: Adding personality to the eyes is also a win this fall. “Earthy tones like browns, burnt orange, deep reds and purples are some colours you can rock. The subtle smokey is also always a good choice,” the make-up expert told Flair.

Monochromatic make-up looks: Guess which colours work great for the monochromatic. If you’re thinking red, pink, bronze, brown, nude and orange, you are correct. An international favourite, it’s a trend that entails keeping the eyes, lips and cheeks within the same shade range.

The classic red lips, burgundies and plums: You can never go wrong wearing the classic red lips, after all, it is a statement colour. But there are others that you need to try. The specialist explained, “The top lipstick colours for fall are plums, burgundies, reds, earth tones like oranges and browns.”

We have been experiencing gloomy weather lately. Boodie says if the pattern continues, you should moisturise, moisturise, and moisturise some more! “And use an illuminating primer versus a primer that gives a matte finish. Don’t forget your setting spray; illuminating setting sprays are definitely an option.”

So, you see, it’s pretty easy. Which style(s) will you rock this fall?

All make-up and more may be found at EC Make-up Bar at the Little Premier Plaza in Half-Way Tree.
