Candice Davis-McKellar and Jerome McKellar first laid eyes on each other at a casting call for College Lifestyle TV Show and Magazine, held at the University of Technology. Candice stood out in the spotlight as co-star while Jerome was on set as a production assistant. When behind the scenes meets centre stage, the showcase is magnetic, majestic and simply put, awe-inspiring.

But the two didn’t hit ‘spark mode’ right way.

Candice explained that her first impression of the 30-year-old went along the lines of “cute and hype, not my type”. Jerome initially found his 28-year-old wife to be weird, but he also thought her to be a sexy and attractive goth girl, “I liked her,” he expressed.

Keeping things casual, they saw each other on and off for a few months, until it was time to level up, “He went to Canada and when he returned he wanted us to make it official. So we did,” Candice shared with a smile. They built an unimaginable bond behind the curtain while attending university.

Over time, she discovered that her other half is level headed, smart, selfless, a great listener, intuitive and trustworthy, “He’s a solutionist. I’ve never had an issue he couldn’t fix or didn’t at least have a sensible resolve for. He has taught me subtlety, all the while allowing me to be unapologetically myself. He has also shown me the importance of staying true to myself, even though I’m a lot different from most. He is the voice of reason in our union.”

Admitting that Candice is misunderstood, Jerome loves her brilliance and enjoys her great sense of adventure. Blown away by her beauty, he considers her his all and everything, “She has been my rock, anchor, guide, solace, chief advisor, consultant, my equal, my CEO, and my dose of honesty. I’ve become a better person because of her.” Growing in life and love, they thrived together for six wonderful years.

No relationship is partial to knockdowns. But one day, the couple met in a bad car accident. Candice actually thought Jerome had died. That near-death experience propelled her to arrive at the epiphany that she couldn’t live her life without him. Jerome, who shared that forever sentiment from the start, decided to raise the relationship stakes by popping the big question. He folded on his first go of proposing, but made up for it the second time around, winning her hand with roses and a romantic letter that spoke to her soul. “It was everything!” She added. Although she had a wedding planner and enlisted assistance from her mother, the bride confessed far she dreaded the whole planning process, noting that it was very tedious, mentally and financially draining. But it was all worth it on the morning of Saturday, August 10, 2019.

Candice and Jerome tied the knot at the gorgeous Grizzly’s Plantation Cove in St Ann. Thinking outside of the box, the lovebirds invited close family members and friends to join them in celebrating their nuptials from 4 a.m. The regal bride ‘queened’ in her show-stopping sweetheart neckline wedding dress: the beauty was all in sheer perfection and elegant tulle detail. She went on to do a wardrobe change, selecting a sultry and festive look for the reception alongside her bridesmaid beach babes. The groom paired pure white with pops of aqua colour alongside his groomsmen.

“Our dawn wedding was such a fairytale! I loved our ceremony most,” The bride said. The groom articulated with great pride,“The best moment for me was seeing her beautiful smile when she got to the end of the aisle to meet me. I’ve never seen her in our entire relationship smile brighter: she brought the sunshine.”

The newlyweds would like to thank the mother of the bride, Ann Marie Stanford, also known as Mommy Needlez for going above and beyond with the special day from inception, Dash Productions for capturing the moments perfectly and producing heavenly pictures, and first-class entertainment for the awesome setup.
