You may have noticed this face from the carnival scene, modelling costumes right across the Caribbean. There’s no way to miss her as she’s always sporting her signature bob cut and donning playful-chic urban outfits. Flair sat with 20-year-old Abihail Myrie to discuss personal style and fashion tips.
Let’s start with her crown. “To be honest, I don’t do as much as people think. I wrap my hair at night and keep it in place with a satin scarf or bonnet,” she explained. When it’s time to meet and greet, young Myrie adds some lightweight oil and uses a comb to set her hair in place.
Dresses are one style of clothing that she simply cannot go without. According to her, dresses are so versatile that there’s one for any and every occasion.
“That’s how my online dress store @abisdresses was born back in December. At first, I was a little scared because people thought I was limiting myself, but truly, sometimes I’d be scrolling through online shops, and it’s just hard to spot a dress. I created a one-stop dress shop, and it has been going well,” she said.
For her, what really makes a dress stand out is its accessories: statement bags, earrings, necklaces, and shoes. She warned, however, that ladies should only choose one statement piece to avoid fashion overkill.
When it comes to make-up, she keeps it simple and neutral: lashes, eyebrows, foundation, and lip gloss, with a little sparkle in the eye creases. Under great make-up is healthy skin, though. Using only rose water and natural soaps and oils as part of her care routine, her sensitive skin has been visibly prosperous.

- Wear your size: not too big, not too small.
- Have fun. That’s the beauty of fashion; there’s so much to explore and experiment with.
- Don’t let the clothes wear you; wear the clothes.
- Confidence is key.
