With the global pandemic still in full swing, many have been faced with no choice but to depend on the digital space for work, school, shopping, and yes, dating. If you’re wondering how you can really get to know somebody virtually, it’s much easier than you think, thanks to advanced technology at your fingertips. And with nowhere to go, due to the protocols of this new normal, hopefuls have been turning to online dating now more than ever to take the edge off loneliness. Here are some activities you can engage in virtually from the comfort and safety of your home.

Movie time!

If you’re both movie buffs, then create your own cinema experience. So grab your popcorn and let the screening begin. After all, you can tell a lot about a person by the films he or she watches.

Musical moments

Who doesn’t love music? You can start your own sound clashes together via YouTube and share insight into genres that you both adore. Or you can take it up a notch by watching a concert together.

Zoom dinner for two

If companies can have Zoom meetings, why can’t aspiring couples or partners go on virtual dates via Zoom? Sit across from the screen and spark scintillating conversations to tickle your fancy. The beautiful thing about Zoom is each session is timed, so if you’re not feeling the ‘blind date’, it will end sooner than you think, and if you are, then you can pick up where you left off.

Cook together

The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, and a woman certainly enjoys when a man knows his way around the kitchen, so why not cook together? Take on the culinary challenge of trying the same recipe, talk through the process together and enjoy the delicious outcome over digital fine dining.

Games night

This is the perfect way to find out if your lover has a competitive streak or is a sore loser. You can dive into classic or complex games online and let the good times roll.

Let’s create art

Want to try something fun and exciting? Make art together. You don’t have to be a professional. All you need to do is tap into the rejuvenating experience because art is therapeutic. Up the ante with a sip and paint for two.

Exchange in literature

Discover the wonders of literature by becoming the ultimate book club duo. Not only are you learning new things about a particular piece of work, but you will also definitely learn more about the person you’re reading with, who may stir up discussions by offering a different opinion or perspective. So, explore different authors, time periods and genres, and get lost between the pages together.

Let’s get physical – virtually

Speaking of getting lost between, who says playing out your fantasy cannot exist virtually? Open your mind and your body to jaw-dropping, toe-curling, breathtaking, vibrating and peak-pleasing possibilities.
